Rule 1: Cool and Dark Beats Everything

E-liquid and lithium batteries both dislike heat and UV light. A drawer, cupboard or shelf away from windows is perfect. The two worst places: a hot car (interiors exceed 60°C — degrading liquid and stressing the battery) and a sunny windowsill.

Rule 2: Store Upright

The wick inside your device needs to stay saturated with e-liquid (see our how disposable vapes work guide for why). Upright storage keeps the liquid where it belongs. A device left on its side for weeks can deliver dry, weak first puffs until the wick re-soaks.

Rule 3: Keep Caps and Mouthpieces Clean

Pocket lint, dust and crumbs in the mouthpiece affect the draw and hygiene. If your device ships with a silicone cap, keep it on until first use.

Rule 4: Mind the Extremes

• Never freeze — extreme cold thickens liquid and reduces battery output
• Avoid bathrooms — humidity and temperature swings aren’t ideal
• Away from kids and pets — high, locked or hidden, always
